A few years ago, I came across these quills shed by porcupines on the roadside in Sri Lanka.
I have included some in this mixed media "Mandala".
Beadwoven leaves and porcupine quills mounted on a round canvas panel. Acrylic molding paste, paint, gold leaf, wire.
12"/30cms.
